The environmental movement and the animal rights movement often have similar goals. The goal of the environment movement is to protect the environment and use resources in a sustainable manner, without harming the balance of the ecosystems it affects human health. The goal of the animal rights is for animals to be free of human use and exploitation.
Animal rights are based on recognition that non human animals are sentient beings and have their own rights and interests. The existence of every animal is again important to keep the balance of the ecosystem, hence the human health.
